Souffle DouleurA slow garden of browser games

The potting shed

Who tends Souffle Douleur

Three people, a long table a few streets from Parc La Fontaine and an old disagreement about which puzzle deserves a rainy Sunday.

Our name is a small pun. A souffre-douleur, in French, is whoever takes the knocks for everybody else; we changed one letter and kept the job. We wade through the awkward menus, the endless loading bars and the games that waste an evening, so that you only meet the ones that do not.

It began in 2024 as a list passed between friends, a message every time somebody found a browser game that ran well on an elderly laptop. Strangers started asking to see it, so the list moved here.

Our three promises

  • Every mark is settled before any link is added.
  • If a game sells optional extras, the review says so.
  • Mistakes are corrected in the open, with the date logged.
